Letter to the Editor
I find it very difficult to overcome my shock at reading about the board even discussing in public the Taking of a Private Business for use as a Public Park. That has to be the socialist proposal I've ever heard in the "Live Free or Die" state.
The Marina is a thriving business serving hundreds of boat owners.
Surely there are better ways to create public parks.
Here are a couple:
- The Gauron property could be purchased, the building razed and the beach area could be groomed to provide a nice area for swimming between the State Pier and the old Gilmore Pier.
- What about the gravel lot way out on Island Path, it is never used.
Clean it up, it would be a great park.
