About Us

      We are a diverse group of Hampton residents from all walks of life and political persuasions. We are advocates for the Hampton taxpayer.  Our objective is to assure that value is being obtained for the tax dollars that we are asked to pay. We closely scrutinize all financial issues associated with the town of Hampton and its schools as they affect taxes and advocate accordingly. We can do this very effectively since we are free of any special interest influences hence remain objective on all issues. We choose to remain anonymous so that special interests cannot focus on character assassinations but are forced to focus on the substance that we report or give recommendations on.

In our numerous articles to the Hampton Union and our presentations at the Board of Selectmen we constantly mention the need to look out for the interests of the taxpayers when the Town goes on spending sprees. Some of the items impacting our taxes are necessary some are not.

Average Single-Family Home Property Tax $7,150 estimate for 2018
By Norm Silberdick @ 5:14 AM :: 2054 Views :: 0 Comments :: Letters to the Editor

If all municipal, SAU90 and Winnacunnet High School warrant articles pass this March the Hampton tax rate will increase by 7% to $17.53 this year. The accumulative increase in the taxes on an average single-family home will have risen from $5,989 in 2014 to $7,150 in 2018, a 19% increase of over $1,000 in only 4 years. At this rate we will be at $9,000 in another five years. The 2018 estimate does not even include the $11.8 million WWTP bond on the ballot, if approved it will not hit the tax rate until 2019.

In the past few years a number of high cost warrant articles have passed by less than 25 votes. With little effort, you can make a difference!
